Current Scenario of M.Tech in India

In India, A.I.C.T.E. is the authoritative body for technical education. As per their norms, this post graduate educational program is, generally, done in a period of 2 years. Some of the Indian universities even conduct M. Tech programs that are featured with 3 years’ duration. Besides these, some of the institutes offer 3 years’ weekend M. Tech courses as well. In spite of being an engineering degree, such a post graduation is done in the technical field.

Students who have the degree of the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) or the Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) that is a 4 year program are eligible to enroll themselves for M. Tech in any of the engineering colleges of the country so as to study further. Students who have done Master of Science, which is a 5 year program in Applied Sciences or any branch of science, are eligible as well. In the Indian Republic, this program is, normally, structured as a research based degree. It ranks below the Doctorate degree of Ph. D though.

Entrance Exams for M.Tech

A number of entrance examinations are conducted in the country for the admission of engineering students in the different M. Tech programs. The most important and famous among them is the G.A.T.E. or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Students aspiring to pursue M.
